Nepali New Year on the Boudhanath stupa, Kathmandu. The stupa is the largest in Nepal and one of the most important ones in the Buddhist world. It is a joy to sit on one of the balconies of the building surrounding the stupa and watch the festivities before joining in. This photo was taken in April 1999.

Sunset photos are often getting boring, I know. We have all seen too many. Yet I do love the reflections and the shades of pink, orange and blue in this one. Taken in Khao Lak, Thailand, in 2012.

One of my favorite places to visit in Laos is Vang Vieng, about three hours drive North from Vientiane. It is an extremely picturesque place. It is also where I love to visit rice fields early in the morning to take photos. This one was taken in November 2013.

Baimuru is situated in Gulf Province, in the middle of a large tidal swamp area with mostly brackish water. While there is "dry ground" most of the area is water and mud, and the best way to get around is in dug out canoes .
