The old Khmer ruins of Angkor World heritage area are among the most spectacular places to visit. Situated near Siem Reap, Cambodia, The complex is large and has many temples, including the main Angkor Wat complex, which is the largest religious building in the world. Every year, in October, there is one boat racing festival in Laos that stops the nation. It is the Vientiane boat racing festival. While there are many other boat races in Laos, none stands out like the Vientiane one. The winners become national heroes. This photo was taken in October 2010.

Fish market in Kampala, Uganda. This is 1988, when the country was still trying to recover from a string of brutal dictatorships. Money was not worth anything and much of the trade was barter.
